God’s mercies never grow old. His heart never darkens nor does it ever turn cold. His mercies never run out. His mercies are never ill timed. They never dry up or suspiciously fade.
Brand new every morning are the mercies of our Lord. Perfectly suffiencent for our challenges, disappointments, sufferings, temptations, and struggles with the deadly sins within us, and around us!
Take a minute to rest, and bask in His kindness this morning! He’s not holding yesterday against you — He’s gently rebuking you, strengthening you, and giving you courage to abide in Him moving forward into this new day.
This is the day the Lord has made rejoice and be glad in it. “Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed thy hand have provided — Great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!”
He who began a good work in you — saving you and beginning to make you more like Jesus — he will complete that work.
If you are in Christ and have known this promise, you’ve known it is precious. “I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6).
God, by his unrivaled, infinite power, will one day remedy everything wrong about you. Now, you are counted perfect through faith in Jesus. Then, you will be presented perfect — no sin, no shame, no guilt, no doubt, no fear — nothing broken about you.
You may be facing situations that you don’t see how they could work out. You could live worried, stressed, but you have to shift your perspective from the how to the who. Who you are is more powerful than any force that’s trying to stop you. You’re not just anyone; you belong to the Most High God.
He breathed life into you; He chose you. The good news is He’s backing you up. He has the hows already figured out. There’s no giant too big for Him, no sickness too great, no addiction too powerful, no obstacle too strong.
“I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.”
