One of the ways God speaks to us is through the sanctified desires of our hearts. God places right desires in our hearts and then He gives us those desires.
We need to ask God to give us sanctified, or holy, desires. We often have natural aspirations for success, money, great homes, and excellent relationships, but we should also have spiritual ambitions.
We should desire to know God in a deeper and more intimate way, to always exhibit the fruit of the Spirit (particularly love), and to live lives that please Him.
Wrong desires torment us and make us impatient about receiving them, but sanctified desires come with a willingness to wait on God’s ways and timing.
When we ask Him, God gives us new desires that agree with His Word and bring His righteousness, peace, and joy to our lives.
I want to encourage you to ask God for the desires in your heart and then stand in faith for Him to do His will.
God desires boldness and courage in our faith. God has invested Himself in you and given you talents and abilities that equip you to do certain things. You are part of His plan and purpose.
When God withholds what we ask for, it is only because He desires to give something that He knows to be better.
God loves you. He sees what you’re going through, He is with you, and He desires to help you right where you are. We have to prepare ourselves and be ready for the open doors God sets before us. We have to take action if we truly want to see those dreams and desires come to pass.
God has equipped each and every one of us for greatness. Don’t allow the gifts He’s given you to sit dormant, but be confident in His confidence in you, and you will be able to accomplish great things.
The scripture says, “When you seek God first, all these things will be added unto you.” God wants to not only meet your needs, He wants to give you the desires of your heart. God knows what you’re going to need, when you’re going to need it, and how to get it to you. The problem you’re worried about, God has the answer already in route. The vindication, the healing, the breakthrough is already set up.
No matter what is happening in your life, no matter what the naysayers are saying, no matter what the circumstances look like, you can fulfill your God-given desires. Learn how you can see the dreams God has placed in your heart fulfilled.
Don’t expect people to give you what only God can. People can’t heal your heart, give you hope, or satisfy your soul—but God can! Expect Him to meet your needs and fulfill the desires of your heart.
When was the last time you just sat and dreamed? Have you thought about what you would do if you had unlimited resources and knew you wouldn’t fail? God places those desires in you for a purpose!
Prayer Starter: Lord, please help me trust You with my desires, and replace any desires in my heart that are not from You with Your desires for my life. Thank You for wanting to bless me and meet my needs in new ways. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
