Giving thanks is so important to being able to hear God’s voice because, like praise and worship, it is something God responds to. It’s something God loves, something that warms His heart.
When we give God joy in this way, our connection with Him grows, and our relationship with Him improves.
Also, when we are thankful, we are in a position to receive more from the Lord. If we are not thankful for what we have, why should He give us something else to murmur about? When God sees that we sincerely appreciate and are appreciative for the great and small things, on the other hand, He is more likely to give us even more.
God can take the worst thing that you could possibly imagine and somehow or another, He throws a few of His own ingredients in there and it turns out to be a miracle. And all you have to do is give it to Him.
You know one of the things that will keep you young is to learn how to live in peace. The moment that you get anxious about anything, do what Philippians 4:6 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in all things by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God; and the peace that passes understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
No matter what we pray for, thanksgiving should always go with it. A good habit to develop is starting all our prayers with thanksgiving. Prayer with thanksgiving opens a door for God!
If you don’t do anything else, pray every day for God to fill you with the Holy Spirit. He gives us powerful gifts for us to step out and bring Him glory!
We pray, we believe, and God works. That’s what it means to enter the rest of God.
How you pray will determine what kind of life you live. If you only pray small, ordinary prayers, you’ll most likely live a small, ordinary life. But when you have the boldness to ask God for big things, when you pray God-sized prayers, you will see the greatness of God’s power.
