When it comes to letting go of the past and forging on to the abundant life God has in store, it’s time to be assertive and energetic. You can’t sit around in self-pity and think about what you lost, who hurt you, and how unfair it was.
It’s time to proactively pursue the happiness, health, and peace that is promised in God’s Word. God told Joshua to cross over the Jordan and go in and possess the land.
It’s time to quit dwelling on past mistakes and failures and determine to never look back! You’ll discover triumph rising in every aspect of your life as you focus on God’s Word and His promises—you’ll uncover the champion in you!
It’s easy to go through life looking in the rear view mirror, focused on what didn’t work out, who hurt us or the mistakes we’ve made – “If only I would have finished college; if only I’d spent more time with my children; if only I’d been raised in a better environment.” As long as you’re living in regret, focused on the negative things of the past, it will keep you from the bright future God has in store.
God has given you dreams and things you want to see Him do for you or those close to you — He’s put them on your heart in a way you can’t deny. You may have thought it was too big to happen.
God wants to know what you’re believing for. How you answer is going to determine what He does. Don’t ask small—that’s going to limit your destiny. Learn to ask God for the impossible!
PRAYER FOR TODAY: God, I want to live the victorious life you intended for me. I recognize that I am not perfect, but please help me to focus on the future rather than my mistakes in the past, and give me the strength to pursue the happiness, health, and tranquility that you have promised for me. In Jesus’ name – Amen.
