Joyce Meyer had a lot of ups and downs as a child growing up with her father. She shared this photo of her father being 𝑏𝑎𝑝𝑡𝑖𝑧𝑒𝑑 after she lead him to Jesus Christ on Instagram. Joyce Meyer, the founder of Joyce Meyer Ministries, wrote on Instagram:
“If you’ve been praying for your Father – don’t give up! This picture of my dad getting baptized is quite a miracle and will hopefully encourage you to believe that with God, anything is possible! Let me share what I mean…
Father’s Day was never a good day for me. Because my dad had 𝑠𝑒𝑥𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑦 abused me for years, I spent a lot of time being angry and bitter. But with God’s loving help, I gradually came to the realization that I needed to make a choice to forgive him, even though it seemed impossible. We never had a close relationship, but I was able to forgive my dad.
Before his death, I was blessed to lead him to accept Jesus as his Savior and had the privilege of baptizing him. Even though Satan stole what should have been a normal, loving relationship between a father and his daughter, God brought restoration and healing.
And he can do that for you too! I know Father’s Day can be a difficult day for many of you and I understand how you feel. But I also have seen God move in big ways in my life and in the life of my father. So keep praying and know that I am praying with you.” -Joyce
Whenever I think of this I cry, what a moment! God forgives even the worst sinners, and He certainly redeemed your life from the ashes. My dad only on his deathbed in 1978 looked at me and said ” Okay… please… pray for me!”. And I still do, and pray God showed him mercy… because he was sorry for what he put all of us through… I saw it in his eyes that day…You are so blessed to have seen your father repent and be baptized! It makes me cry all over again looking at this photo!
You think what someone has done to you is the worst that can ever be done, then you read what others have gone through in the hands of people who should have loved and cared for them. You realize that you have every reason to forgive. Thank God for his Grace.
Joyce your story is so inspirational to hear! I had a wonderful loving Dad for 17 short years of my life so although I didn’t experience what you went through I know that it is only because of Gods love and healing that you are able to share your story and be a tower of strength and comfort for so many! God Bless you!
