In the presence of God, we are refilled, refueled, refreshed and renewed (Acts 3:19-20)!
Healthy relationships are built upon spending time together. This includes our time with God! It can be hard to get quiet nowadays. There’s always notifications, text messages to read or thoughts swirling through our brains. But sometimes we hear God best in silence.
So turn off, unplug and take some time in silence before God. You could choose a verse of scripture to focus your mind on during that time. You may even want to set a timer and start with just one minute of silence each day.
What a comfort it should be knowing that God is with us, everywhere we go and He’s ready to talk with us about everything in our life.
Surrender every day and make God’s Word your priority. God loves you and the more time you spend with Him, the more your character will begin to clearly reflect your heavenly Father’s purpose and will for you. This is a beauty far greater and more precious than any idea of ‘beauty’ the world might try to distract you with.
You are beautiful, precious, loved, worthy and because you have been created in God’s image, you are His jewel made to shine for Jesus.
No matter what goes on around you in the world, staying focused on Jesus is essential. Spend time in His Word so that your mission and purpose in God is center to your daily focus. Stay close to His word so you can act upon it in belief and trust.
”Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6
To keep your eyes on Jesus means seeing through His eyes and when you do, you may find yourself spending more time praying for the needs of others that God reveals to you. When you keep your eyes on Jesus, you are inspired to live in loving service to the Lord. You see God for who He is; faithful, loving and kind, merciful and full of forgiveness and understand that Jesus expects you to treat others with this same kindness.
When you understand God’s timing, you won’t live stressed out. You can relax knowing that God is in control, and at the perfect time He is going to make it happen.
We can’t change ourselves, we have to ask God for His grace and power to change. And remember…the more time we spend with Jesus the more like Him we will become!
We need to be able to deal with disappointment and stay happy when we don’t get our way. We spend too much time trying to get God to serve us instead of serving Him.
Push away the distractions and simply spend time with God. Take a Scripture, ponder over it, and listen to what He is saying.
Sit quietly in His presence and say, “God, I love You. Thank You for this day. Father, I want You to reveal more of Yourself to me.” Whatever that intimacy looks like for you, the only thing that will satisfy the needs of your soul and give vision for your life is to set yourself apart and be alone with God.
