There are many ways to grow in Christ, but I would like to focus on just three of them today. All of them relate to the way you spend your time: time with God, time in God’s Word, and time with people who will help you grow.
- Time with God
There is nothing better than one-on-one time with God. During this time, you can read, study, pray, and talk with God, or simply sit in His presence and rest in Him.
When you spend time with God and nurture that relationship, it strengthens your faith, and His grace can help you get through the unimaginable.
- Time in God’s Word
I encourage you to devote as much time as possible to studying and meditating on God’s Word.
Investing time in God’s Word as part of your everyday life is one of the best actions you can take to grow spiritually.
When you read the Word of God, you may not understand everything. You may think, “I’m wasting my time. I could be doing something else.” Realize that you are planting a seed of truth. In your time of need, God will make sure it comes alive, that it will nourish you and keep you strong.
Spending time in God’s Word does not always mean reading the Bible. You can also read books that help explain the Bible or offer teachings on a particular subject about which you are interested in learning more.
- Time with people who will help you grow
If you really want to grow spiritually, it is vital to spend time with people who can help you, people who are also hungry for the things of God.
When you put God first in everything you do, you’ll be amazed at what happens in your life. When you show up for God, He’ll show out for you! Make spending time with God a priority and watch what He will do this week!
All relationships grow when you spend time together. The same is true for your relationship with God. Spend time with Him today and be strengthened and encouraged!
Today I pray for those who feel like they have wasted time. You may have made some mistakes, but with God, nothing is ever wasted! He will redeem every moment lost!
