Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!

You don’t know why God has put someone in your path. It’s not a coincidence. God has strategically lined up every person, every detail, every step of your life. Now do your part. Don’t miss an opportunity to be a blessing.

God puts people on our path on purpose so we can be a blessing to them. It may seem small to you, but you don’t know what kind of impact it will have on another person.

Parents are the ones who remark what a blessing they have received when they welcome a newborn kid into the world. What never happens is this: The newborn opens his squinty eyes, looks at the parents, and says, “I’m so grateful to be born into your family!”

Obviously, no one expects a newborn to accomplish such a thing. And yet, at the moment of our new birth into God’s family, that is exactly what happens—or should happen. Yes, God as our Father rejoices at our entrance into His family (Luke 15:10). But the apostle John speaks for all who enter God’s family when he writes, “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called God’s offspring!” It’s as if John is reiterating something we may have forgotten at the time of our spiritual birth: God is our Father, and we are His children!

We are blessed when we place our trust continually in the Lord. We are also blessed when His Spirit shows us we have placed our trust elsewhere and leads us to repentance so we know we must return our trust to Him. Just as quickly as we place our trust in Him, we can remove it and place it elsewhere, and just as quickly as He shows us we have done so, we need to return our trust to the Lord!

Nothing can compare to the experience of being born into the family of God. Pause and give thanks today for the blessing His love has bestowed on you.
