Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.” – Matthew 28:18 ⠀
During times of uncertainty, storms, confusion, trial and tribulation, we can stand firm on God’s Word and promises. It’s not easy being in the eye of the storm or walking on water with our eyes fixed on Jesus when waves are crashing around us.
The Bible promises that we can get joy by the spirit and we can gain strength by hoping and waiting on God. God is trustworthy and is always on time, so take heart in your obstacles. He promises to draw near to you and never let you go.
The storm may be raging and the challenges may be too much, but you need peace in your heart for a change to happen. God is waiting for your peace to be still so that the storm will cease.
God’s plan will always include what is best for you, and even though life will bring ups and downs, with God in your life you will find a reason to smile through the storm.
I know it’s hard to believe, but each storm you walk through WILL teach you a lesson. You will walk out of that storm knowing more than you did before. Each storm will benefit you. Not break you. God has you taken care of!
God never tells us to pray that we’ll never have problems. He tells us to pray that when we have them, we will be steady in the storm!
I’m praying for you if you’re in the path or near where hurricane sandy will be. I can’t imagine how scary and unsettling that feels, because I live in LA and have never been through a tropical storm/hurricane. I pray you and your family are safe this week.
“Dear Lord, we ask for Your protection for all those who are in the path of the storm. Give them strength and keep them safe in this frightening time. We pray for Your comfort and peace for those who are afraid–let them remember that You always are with us, even when times seem dark. We pray for You to let us open our hearts to those who are affected by Hurricane Sandy and give them our help in the aftermath of the storm. Finally, we pray that You please keep watch over our East Coast brothers and sisters and protect them from harm. Amen.”
