This Artist Spent 10 Years Creating Tallest Bird Sculpture In The World (200ft)

If you ask any visitor to pick a few places they think everyone should see, most of them will list India as the one that should not be missed. With its incredible food, astounding history, vibrant culture, and revered temples, India is undoubtedly on many people’s bucket lists.  There are now even more reasons to travel to this enchanted nation, one of which is the incredible statue of an eagle sculpted by renowned director Rajiv Anchal, which revives an ancient legend.

Located near Kerala, Jatayu Earth Centre became one of the best places to visit while traveling around India. The sculpture is a dedication to the Hindu epic Ramayana

The Sanskrit-written epic Ramayana narrates the tale of a huge eagle that battled Ravana and fell to save the Hindu goddess Sita. The narrative has been known for many years by the people living in the Keralan district of Kollam, Chadayamangalam hamlet, and it has finally been brought to life in the greatest possible way.

 

This is currently the biggest sculpture of a bird in the world.

If you ever go there, you’ll find that there are many fascinating things to do for tourists to enjoy, like paintball, rock climbing, rappelling, and rifle shooting, in addition to the sculpture. There is also an Ayurvedic resort nearby as well as a museum.

 

Given that the sculpture is 200 feet long from tail to head and was constructed atop the 1,000-foot-tall Jatayupara towers, we truly believe that it is the largest bird sculpture in the entire globe.

The author of the sculpture, filmmaker Rajiv Anchal, says he had the idea for longer than 10 years.“I had presented a model for this sculpture to the Department of Tourism during my Fine Arts College days in the 1980s. Although they were impressed, it didn’t take shape back then.”
