When Joel Osteen was interviewed by The Christian Post, the famous televangelist spoke about leading his life by the “Billy Graham rule”.

Throughout the Osteens’ 30-plus years of marriage, they’ve somehow avoided many of the scandals that took down their peers. That’s not to say they don’t have any shady secrets, but overall, the pair has remained completely unified throughout their most trying times. Despite the random divorce rumors, there doesn’t seem to be a single crack in their relationship. That doesn’t mean it isn’t strange, though. These are some of the weirdest things about Joel Osteen’s marriage.

Joel went on to reveal that his dad also avoided being alone with women he wasn’t married to. With that in mind, it seems like Joel might find the rule perfectly normal.

The other strange rule that Joel and Victoria Osteen live by involves her looks. While Victoria and Joel were being interviewed, he expressed his opinion that wives should always look pretty for their husbands. “Wives, don’t look good for everybody else. Look good for your husband, too.”

Without missing a beat, Victoria supported her husband’s statement while defining what that means. “Don’t wear that same old bathrobe you’ve been wearing for the last 10 years. That’s what he meant.” On another occasion, Joel also encouraged wives to go shopping at Victoria’s Secret to attract their husbands.

It goes without saying that a lot of people spend a lot of time and effort on their spouse’s appearance. It’s noteworthy to note that neither Joel nor Victoria said that husbands should be handsome for their wives when it comes to the guideline about looking well. With that in mind, Joel expecting Victoria to look attractive at all times seems strange.
