“Someone Said Mum’s Belly Is So Big, Her Baby’s Living In A Loft And Has Wifi”

Brooke Luney from California is expecting a baby boy – who is her sixth child – any day now.

The mum, 32, says she has always ‘carried very big’ and blames her ‘short torso’ for her particularly large bump.

Since becoming pregnant, Brooke has been documenting her journey on TikTok and YouTube. Her stomach has drawn a lot of attention, and people frequently remark on her posts to comment on its size.

Brooke’s most recent video shows she’s currently three days overdue and at her 35-week checkup, Brooke was told her unborn baby boy was measuring at six pounds, four ounces. This is smaller than one of previous pregnancies.

“Was your ultrasound weight accurate?” she asked of her 24,800 followers.

“Was told 8 lbs but was 11 lbs 7 oz,” commented one person.

Another added, “I delivered at 36 weeks. The ultrasound that morning said 5lbs 5 ozs, he came out 7lbs 7ozs.”

In a recent video, Brooke discussed one remark made to her regarding the size of her bump.

“Someone told me my belly is so big, my baby is living in a loft and already has wifi,” she wrote in the video that has since had more than 3.5 million views.

“This kind of lifestyle is what I want,” commented one person.

Another added, “Wait, only one person lives in there?”

One person recommended Brooke make sure the baby has enough space on the outside because they’re clearly used to large spaces.

“He’s gonna come out like ‘I gotta share my house with five other kids?’,” Brooke replied.

Aside from online comments, Brooke told Today that she also gets a lot in person.

She claimed that strangers frequently come up to her and enquire as to whether she is expecting triplets or whether she has a medical problem like gestational diabetes, which can cause babies to grow larger than usual.

But she wants people to know that both she and the baby are completely normal and healthy.

“It’s extra noticeable because I’m 4ft 11 and I have a short torso,” she explained.

“Strangers will stop me in a store wanting to know if I’m expecting triplets. I’ve had a healthy, uncomplicated pregnancy.”
