Before her rescue in July 2023, Fhandee’s condition was critical. She was not only frail but also blind, which made it difficult for her to manage even basic tasks.
As we worked to care for her, we discovered she was also deaf, adding unforeseen challenges to her recovery. Fhandee initially responded to her new environment with fear and suspicion, making it hard for her to adjust.
We became concerned that she would not make it through since she fell several times and had trouble getting back up on her feet.
Despite these challenges, the determination of Fhadee has been evident. She has worked hard to maintain her strength and has been sustained by a voracious appetite.
Our mahouts and veterinarians have been steadfast in their care, giving Fhandee specially prepared soft food every day. We are seeing a remarkable improvement in her condition today.
