Imperfect, but Perfectly Loved – Joyce Meyer Daily Devotional

We can be thankful that God loves us and chooses to make His home in us. This choice is not based on any good deeds we have done or ever could do, but solely on the grace, mercy, power, and love of God. God loves you. He’s smiling over you and singing over you because He is pleased and delighted with you!

We cannot love ourselves unless we realize how much God loves us, and if we don’t love ourselves, we cannot love other people. We cannot maintain good, healthy relationships without this foundation of love in our lives. God is a good father. There’s nothing He wouldn’t do for you. When we were at our worst, He loved us. That’s the Father’s heart.

I was yearning for love by the time I met the guy I’ve been married to since 1967, but I didn’t know how to receive it, even when it was accessible. My husband, Dave, genuinely loved me, but I was continually diverting his affection because of how I felt about myself on the inside.

As I entered into a serious and committed relationship with God, through Jesus Christ, I began to learn about God’s love. But it took a long time to fully accept it. When you feel unlovable, it is hard to get it through your head and down into your heart that God loves you perfectly—even though you are not perfect and never will be as long as you are on the earth.

There is only one thing you can do with a free gift: receive it and be grateful. I urge you to take a step of faith right now and say out loud, “God loves me unconditionally, and I receive His love!” I’m going to suggest to you that at least three times a day you say out loud, “God loves me.” Every time you hear something, it helps renew your mind!

God loves us because He wants to. Nothing you can do about it. He just loves you and if you want to miss out on it, that’s up to you but God’s going to love you anyway.

What God has ordained for you will not go to anyone else. Don’t worry about someone getting your promotion, your blessing, your favor, your spouse. Someone else cannot steal what God has predicted for your life. Stop being angry because you didn’t get what you wanted. They couldn’t have obtained it if it was intended to be yours. Be happy for them, knowing that God has something better for you

God will not only love you that way, but He will also provide other people who will truly love you. When He does provide, be sure to remain thankful for those people. Having people who genuinely love you is one of the most precious gifts in the world.

Prayer Starter: Father, I know You love me unconditionally and in the name of Jesus, I receive Your love, amen.
