When people speak of “knowing” Jesus, they refer to having a relationship with Him. Being a Christian is more than knowing about Jesus; being a Christian is knowing Him personally. Jesus spoke of the need to know the Savior when He prayed, “This is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” (John 17:3).
Romans 3:23 says it this way: for all have 𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑑 and fall short of the glory of God. Knowing Jesus is simply acknowledging your need for Him, believing what He did for you, and accepting His amazing gift.
Classrooms of Hope – Hand of Hope
It recognizes that you can’t live this life on your own, that you’ve sinned and are in need of a Savior. And the good news about knowing Jesus, about being saved, is the beautiful exchange that happens at that moment.
You give Him all the bad and 𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑓𝑢𝑙 things you’ve done, and in return, God gives you everything He has for you. Whether you know it or not yet, His plan for your life is amazing, and this is the first step on that journey.
How can you know Jesus? Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the 𝑑𝑒𝑎𝑑, you will be saved.” You must believe that Jesus is Lord and that He has risen from the 𝑑𝑒𝑎𝑑. The reason He 𝑑𝑖𝑒𝑑 was to pay for your 𝑠𝑖𝑛 (1 Peter 2:24).
I AM READY TO ACCEPT JESUS? Say this prayer below:
God says in His Word in Romans 10:9, that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised His son Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved. Today, if you feel like Jesus is calling you to a personal relationship with Him, and you are ready to follow His leadership in everything that you do, pray this out loud:
Jesus, I know that I have sinned and am in need of a Savior.
I believe that when you went to the Cross, you went there for me and all my sins.
I trust You to save me right now. I give you my life.
Today, I know I’m saved and that You forgive me, but help me to understand what it means to live for you every day. Amen.
There is no special prayer you must pray to know Jesus and believe in Him. However, the following prayer can be used right now to express your decision to place your faith in Jesus Christ:
“Dear God, I realize I am a sinner and could never reach heaven by my own good deeds. Right now I place my faith in Jesus Christ as God’s Son who rose from the dead to give me eternal life. Please forgive me of my sins and help me to live for you. Thank you for accepting me and giving me eternal life.”
