Faith In God Includes Faith In His Timing

This message is for you. You who is waiting for a change. You who is longing to see God do “a new thing”. Trusting God is the hardest lesson to learn, but the most crucial. Trusting yourself can often times be easier than trusting God. To trust God is to trust His timing. To trust God is to trust His way.

It’s remembering that God loves you too much to answer your prayers at any other time than the right time and in any other way than the right way.

He knows your needs and your desires — However, let Him use His perfect wisdom, His perfect timing, and His perfect knowledge of you to fulfill His plan for your life.

This doesn’t change the fact that we want all of our pain to go away. We long to be healthy. We long to be happy. We long to be comfortable. We long for what’s easy. At least, that’s what I have wanted over the course of my life. Because that’s all I truly ever seen as a “good and perfect plan for my life”. But God sees things we can’t see. He knows things we don’t know. He see’s ways that will help grow us and develop us.

Only God knows what the good plan is and what it will take to get us there. And most of all He knows, if we saw the full road ahead, we would stop about halfway through and never choose to continue with His plan. We would think the cost is too high, the path too scary, the way too daunting, and the enemy too frightening.

No human is strong enough to withstand seeing too much of God’s plan in advance. It must be revealed daily. We must be led to it and through it slowly. And Jesus is the perfect one to show us the way, the truth, and the life.

God has it all figured out. He knows what you’re going to need. He knows who you’re going to need. He’s lined up the good breaks, the right people. He’s directing your steps. Paul talked in Ephesians about the surpassing greatness of God’s favor. You’re going to come into these times where you see God surpass anything you’ve seen. You couldn’t have made it happen. It’s just the goodness of God.

Let’s fix our eyes on Jesus… choose to believe that God’s plans really are the best plans… and remind these fragile, human hearts of ours that we can trust Him at all times.
