Breathtaking Find: Trillions of Gold, Platinum, and Precious Stones Unearthed in Billion-Year-Old Trove

The treasure mountain proudly displays a wealth of platinum, gold, and various precious metal deposits, which have been shaped over billions of years due to geological shifts and erosion.

According to Siberiantimes, the Kondyor Massif mountain contains many precious metals. About 4 tons of platinum are mined here every year. The Kondyor Massif is situated 570 kilometers southeast of Yakutsk and 600 kilometers southwest of the Sea of Okhotsk in the remote Khabarovsk region of Russia. This geological formation is roughly 7 times larger than a meteor crater in Arizona, USA, with an 8km diameter and 600m height.

Seen from above, Kondyor Massif looks like an ancient volcano or a vestige caused by a meteorite impact. Experts assert that the massif’s unique shape is actually the result of molten magma from volcanic rock that crystallized into a complete circle underground more than a billion years ago. Long-term ground erosion occurs in massifs. The Kondyor Massif is the top surface edge of a column of granite that progressively penetrates into the Earth’s crust and remains of a partially eroded dome. It is harder than the surrounding soil. A stream comes from the heart of the mountain using water from the melted snow close to the rim. The Kondyor River on the north face receives water from numerous smaller streams that branch out from the rim.

These springs contain deposits of platinum in the form of crystals, beads, and ingots, along with gold and many other precious minerals. While many crystals have smooth edges, other crystals have incredibly sharp edges. Many of the most exceptional and high-quality gold-plated platinum crystals in the world, in particular, may be found in Kondyor Massif. The amount of platinum mined here annually is up to 4 tons. Therefore, Kondyor Massif is also known as “treasure mountain”.

Accordingly, small streams radiating from the rim contain platinum deposits in the form of crystals, ingots and grains along with many other precious metals such as gold and precious stones. They are considered the “best ever found” in the world. In particular, this treasure mountain also contains a special mineral that only this place has, called Konderite – a mixture of copper, platinum, rhodium, lead and sulfur. In the Kondyor Massif, mining for plutonium reportedly started in 1984, according to Siberiantimes. The Tucson Gem and Mineral Show in the United States hosted the debut of platinum crystals from this massif in 1993. Each year, roughly 4 tons of platinum are typically extracted here.
